Why Study Abroad

- Studying abroad is one of the best ways to acquire global skills and access personal and professional opportunities. It is a life-changing experience for many students, opening their eyes to different ways of life and promoting understanding, tolerance, and global engagement.
- Employers also recognize the value of study abroad to develop workforce skills. Employers increasingly see international internships as a key recruitment pipeline and way to identify globally aware and competent employees.
Eligibility
- Students must have completed at least one year of College studies at HKCHC before your exchange semester
- Students must not finish all graduation required credits prior to the exchange study.
- Students must fulfil the minimum requirement(s) on CGPA and English language ability, if any, set by your Faculty/School/Department and/or your preferred Partner institution(s).
- Students may need to seek the advice from their Department for details on specific programs and eligible partner courses for transfer.

Application Procedure
- Selection: Students are encouraged to select a destination from our Partner List and then consult with their respective Department or Academic Advisor regarding how the exchange contributes to specific coursework requirements for their program.
- Nomination: Basic information requested by the Partner institution should be submitted by email to CPRO’s Global Engagement Officers and then shared with the Partner before the Nomination deadline.
- Application: Students will then be asked to provide further information, including transcripts, passport details, personal statements, etc. through the Partner’s application system or through CPRO’s Global Engagement Officers.
FAQ
Do i need to pay tuition to the Host institution?
No. You only need to pay your normal tuition to HKCHC.
Can I transfer the credits?
Subject to the consent of your Head of Department/Programme Director, credits earned at the host institution could be transferred back to HKCHC. You are strongly advised to obtain consent from your Head of Department/Programme Director before enrolling in the courses.
What are the criteria for selecting the candidates for student exchange programme?
Selections for exchange placement will adopt a merit-based approach and be based on your (i) cGPA, (ii) TOEFL/IELTS Score, (iii) extra- and/or co-curricular activities, (iv) personal statement, and (v) availability of places at our exchange partner institutions.
